We wish you a very Happy New Year!

We wish you a Happy New Year from the ORÍKÌ Headquarters. Welcome to 2021! 2020 was trying for everyone and we are glad that we're all here to celebrate the New Year as one big family under the protection of our CEO (God).

Due to the stress from the past year, some of us may have been affected in different ways, both positively and negatively. Some were able to find new habits as some also dropped old habits; good and bad. If you picked up a bad habit or you dropped a good one, never mind, we're here to help you get back on your feet.

Below are a few ways to help put you back on the right track:

Rest more:

This goal is number one for a reason. The year will be a lot easier if you have a healthy sleep pattern. It helps you start your day right, enables you to work smart and makes you more effective. Sleep is one of the foundations on which all other health habits are formed. And studies show that adequate sleep plays a major role in maintaining a healthy weight and can even lower the risk of developing Type-2 Diabetes. Whenever you have so much work to do, always try to take breaks, this is to ensure that you don’t break down.

You're probably wondering, how much sleep is enough? Well, According to The National Sleep Foundation, adults aged 26-64 years need between 7-9 hours of sleep per night. If you’re struggling to cope with this, try figuring out why. Are you staying up too late? Do you have difficulty falling/staying asleep? Do you wake up too early? If you are unable to improve your sleep on your own, make an appointment with your doctor who can screen for sleep disorders. Doing so may help you pick up on problematic sleep patterns.

Create a spa routine

Getting a spa treatment has so many benefits that can never be overemphasized. One of which is that it helps you relax and de-stress; something we all need this year. It also helps to keep you healthy and looking younger for a long time. It keeps you energetic and boosts your confidence both in your skin and your body. ORÍKÌ provides you with the best spa treatments. Yes! We have a wide range of massages, facial treatments, manicure and pedicure, body wraps, helpful tips and articles and amazing skincare products to keep you feeling refreshed all year. Our reviews and testimonials are evidence.

When you feel overwhelmed, uneasy, bored, stressed out, tired or too worried; just walk into our spa and we will leave you feeling better than ever. Sometimes, all you need is a clear mind to think straight and you'll find the answers that you need.

Exercise, Meditate.

We all know that exercise is important for health, fitness, mood, and sleep. When it comes to exercise, there is no right or wrong way to move your body. Find something that you love to do and do it as often as possible. You may find that exercising in the morning is a lot easier to commit to than trying to work out in the evening after a long day. You may also prefer to dance instead of running. As long as you are keeping fit.

Sometimes, it is necessary to sit still and just let the thoughts and energies flow, especially after a long day. Meditation gives you a new and positive perspective. It relaxes you, clears your mind and keeps you calm enough to see solutions in what may look like challenges.

Be more intentional

Don't jump into conclusions or decisions. Think things through, and thoroughly, when making choices. It's easy to get carried away by the things we see, both online and offline that we begin to set unrealistic standards for ourselves. Do not be easily influenced. Be more self-aware, move at your own pace and pay attention to yourself; your need and wants. Make a list of the things you wish to learn and those you wish to unlearn and tackle them one at a time. Have a clear vision of where you want to be and what you want to be grateful for at the end of the year, this will help you start.

Detox your life, both online and offline. We’re all on different paths in life. If there's something that pressures you into feeling anxious, unhappy or like you're not doing enough, rid yourself of such things. Take the year one day at a time. Be grateful for that which you have and set goals for that which you want. Have your goals written down, create an achievable plan and work towards making them happen.

Stay safe and healthy

Starting off the New Year healthy should be a top priority. Today’s nutrition climate is more contentious than ever before. Everyone seems to have an opinion on what constitutes the “best” diet. And while dietary accord is unlikely to be reached any time soon, it has been advised by nutrition experts to consume way more fruits and vegetables than we currently do. So, how many fruits and vegetables should you be eating? According to the World Health Organization, a minimum of 400 grams of fruits and vegetables is just enough to give you the nutrients that you need daily.

Drink enough water, go for regular check-ups, and don’t forget to follow the COVID-19 safety measures: wear your face mask, use hand sanitizers, wash your hands regularly, maintain social distance and avoid being in crowded places. You can ensure safety by putting away sharp and harmful objects at home, ensuring that the light bulbs are always working, getting physical, mental, spiritual or emotional support from close friends and family when necessary and sharing your location, whereabouts or trips with loved one when heading out.

Put away your phone more often!

We don’t realize how much of our lives our phones take over until we pay attention to it or we find ourselves in the situation where we have to go without a phone for a while. From the health effects of screen light which include a change in brain activity and sleep pattern, and the distance it creates between us and our physical surroundings to social media and the pressure that comes with keeping up, our phones influence our lives daily.

Sometimes, it’s okay to take a day, an hour or a minute away from the online world and you just might find some things you didn’t think you would offline. To help you with this goal, take advantage of your phone’s “Screen Time” feature that allows you to set limits on the use of some of the more addictive apps. Be aware of your surroundings, build relationships in real life and not just online.

With all that being said, the ORÍKÌ family wishes you the very best in this New Near. We will be sharing more helpful hacks and DIY tips to help you achieve your skin, hair, massage and general wellness goals in 2021. Thank you for trusting us to cater to your needs, we hope to see you more often. Cheers.
